How do I borrow an item?

To borrow from DormBox, you need the DormBox app:

  1. Find the DormBox unit in your residence
  2. Scan the QR code on the front panel with your phone
  3. Download the DormBox app (you'll be directed to App Store or Google Play)
  4. Open the app and verify you're a resident
  5. Select the item you need from the available options in the app
  6. The locker will unlock automatically—take your item
  7. Return it to any DormBox when you're done using the app

Note: The app is required to use DormBox. You only need to download it once.

What if an item is damaged?

If you notice an item is damaged or not working properly:

  • Report it through the DormBox app when returning the item
  • Contact your residence manager
  • Email us at team@dormbox.nl

We regularly maintain and replace items. If you accidentally damage something, just let us know—we understand these are shared utilities that get regular use.

Is DormBox free to use?

DormBox charges rental rates based on the time you use each product:

  • 30-minute rates: For quick uses
  • Hourly rates: For standard borrowing periods
  • Daily rates: For longer-term needs

Each product has its own pricing. You'll see the exact rates for each item in the DormBox app before you borrow.

What items are available in DormBox?

DormBox offers the following items:

  • Vacuum cleaners
  • Irons and ironing boards
  • Steamer
  • Toolbox
  • Inflatable mattress

All items are maintained regularly and available 24/7 through the DormBox app.
